Hello everyone. Haven't posted anything in well over a year, but rest assured I still frequent DA at least once a week checking up on new deviations and such. Alots gone on the past year.
I'm a Civil War reenactor now, my college gave me a free uniform for part of an independent study project, so I figured, why not? Also spent about half my total summer wages on an 1853 Enfield 3-Band Rifle, so, I'm all set. Roadtripped to Nebraska with a few college friends for a reenactment a few weeks back, actually got wounded for real during a recreation of Pickett's Charge, but still a great time.
Finishing my bachelor's degree in history this year. Already looking at some grad schools in Ohio, Virginia, and thereabouts for Revolution, French and Indian War, and Civil War research. Also doing another Civil War independent study this year. Last one was daily lives of Civil War soldiers, this next one is weapons and tactics.
I keep falling head over heels for the girl I've fallen in love with. She keeps finding new ways to make my heart flutter, and its a pretty good feeling. Hopefully I'm gonna get to see her really soon <3
Just finished a D&D campaign under my friend AK. Long story short, my Cleric with no combat or healing abilities made it through by the skin of her teeth with her silver tongue and tomes of knowledge, and retired a pirate captain sailing the seas in search of new knowledge. Started working on one I'll run at school set in the Star Wars universe, and thats been eating up some of my time.
Been playing alot of Warcraft online. I have an 80 Hunter and Paladin, and several dozen alts of various levels. The internets recently been kinda screwy, but hopefully itll get fixed soon.
Made officer in the Knights of Columbus, and was reelected. Actually turned down an offer of promotion to continue the work I'm doing right now. I spearheaded a small newsletter, circulating about 300 copies a week on our college. Its nothing huge, but we have people who read us over the school newspaper, and when the school is only 1200 students large to begin with, 300 is a sizable chunk.
I'm working at an Arby's. Not great pay, but relatively easy work and a few D&D buddies work at the same store as me, which is cool. I've gotten alot of praise for good customer service, including an email from our company's VP of finances. Pretty high honor. And about $20 in tips from an Arby's is certainly not bad considering its fast food

Art wise, haven't done much. Took a drawing class last year, might load some of those pictures later, don't know yet. I will load a few Star Wars drawings and a couple others I'm proud of. Honestly, haven't done much art recently, just sporadically.
Got a new laptop, my old one is trojan/virus laden, probably get it fixed anyways, but for now I'm on my new one. Wouldn't hurt to have a spare.
I turned 21 last October and discovered the bitterness of beer and the burning of whiskey. Neither very pleasant. Guess I'm not much of a drinker.
Guess thats about it for the big stuff of the last year. I'll update here now and again, but honestly, you'll have better luck keeping tabs on me on Facebook. I come here mostly to browse art anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving DA or anything.
Anyways, I'll load a few pics and update now and again, see what happens.
Cya all around,
- Donald
